When building a business, the value of focusing on a single vertical and narrow use-case is that it’s very hard to find and hire renaissance men and polymaths.

The narrower the scope, the more narrow and clearly defined the required expertise and tasks required of the team. Thus, the easier it is to find someone to fill that role.

I wonder if AI will change that.

One of the best things AI could do for us is turn mediocre coders into good coders and turn messy coders into clean coders. And that seems to be what’s happening.
